Plan a ferry journey around the operator, terminal, direction and time on your ticket—not just the city name. Yenikapı and Pendik are different departure points; central Yalova and Topçular are not interchangeable either. This guide brings together verified location and transport sources for four terminals.
Sources checked: . The information below is not a live timetable or a promise about a gate. Where a source has no publication date, our check date is not presented as its publication date.
Start with the right terminal
IDO’s facility document dated 6 October 2025 places Yenikapı on Kennedy Caddesi in Fatih, Pendik on Yeni Sahil Yolu, Yalova on Yalı Caddesi, and Bandırma on Adnan Menderes Bulvarı in Paşabayır. It lists Topçular separately. These are facility locations, not coordinates for passenger or vehicle entrances. Page two of IDO’s facility document.
Yenikapı: plan the station and pier as separate steps
Metro Istanbul’s M2 page lists connections at Yenikapı to M1A, M1B, T6 and Marmaray. After planning your rail journey, allow separately for reaching the entrance of the IDO terminal on your ticket. Arrival at the station is not boarding the ferry. Metro Istanbul: Yenikapı connections.
For buses, IETT’s Yenikapı IDO page is a useful starting point: it lists services including 70KY, 70FY and BN1. Recheck the direction, stop and departure times for your travel date with IETT. The list does not mean every bus reaches the terminal gate. IETT: transport to Yenikapı IDO.
For the ferry leg, choose the correct direction on our Yenikapı–Bandırma or Yenikapı–Yalova pages. A route appearing in the archive does not establish ticket availability on your date.
Pendik: check both the stop and the operator
IETT’s route 251 page lists Pendik IDO pier and Pendik YHT railway station as separate stops. Include the transfer between rail and ferry in your plan; the shared name “Pendik” does not mean a shared entrance. IETT 251 stops and departures.
A pier name alone does not identify the carrier. An Istanbul municipality announcement dated 16 August 2024 describes Şehir Hatları using Pendik IDO pier for its Tuzla–Pendik–Büyükada service. This dated example does not mean a Şehir Hatları ticket is valid on an IDO Marmara sailing. Do not treat the announcement’s 2024 departure times as today’s timetable. The municipality’s dated service announcement.
When checking Pendik–Yalova, verify the outbound and return sailings separately. If taking a vehicle, confirm that your booking includes it and ask IDO which vehicle entrance to use.
Bandırma: a facility address is not a passenger gate
Bandırma Municipality’s improvement notice dated 10 August 2025 describes IDO entrances, bus stops and Erdek minibuses around Mehmet Akif Ersoy Caddesi. This shows why the facility address alone is not a description of the current pedestrian entrance. The notice said work was underway at that time; we do not infer that the same works continue today or that they have finished. Bandırma Municipality’s entrance-area notice.
For an onward bus or minibus, check the boarding point and last departure with that carrier. Do not assume a connection will wait for a late ferry. See Bandırma–Yenikapı directions and archive context.
Yalova: distinguish the central pier from Topçular
Read the arrival terminal on your ticket before arranging a transfer. Do not apply directions written for central Yalova to a Topçular arrival.
The official transport page of Yalova Training and Research Hospital describes a hospital-bound minibus connection from outside Star AVM opposite IDO. It supports that particular connection, not a claim that all buses and minibuses depart there or a guaranteed travel time. Official hospital transport information.
What to confirm about accessibility and boarding
We could not verify a current gate-level step-free route or lift status for all four terminals. We therefore do not label them fully accessible or give a fixed walking time. If you need assistance, tell IDO your terminal and sailing time before travelling and ask about the meeting point, ramps or lifts, boarding the vessel and assistance arrangements. A vessel specification alone does not establish a step-free journey from station to seat.
Before leaving, recheck the acceptance deadline on your ticket, the pedestrian or vehicle entrance, operating times for your chosen transport and the reported sailing status. If the ferry is cancelled, use our cancellation follow-up guide; a replacement with another carrier or a refund is not an automatic transfer arrangement.
