Sefer İptal is an independent tracker and explanatory website for IDO ferry and sea-bus sailings in the Sea of Marmara. It helps readers understand reported sailing status, experimental estimates and historical records in Turkish and English. We are not the official IDO website and are not affiliated with IDO.
What you can find here
Use the sailing search to select departure and arrival terminals and a travel date. Read the reported status alongside its check time. You can add a sailing to a follow list in this browser. Guides explain cancellation checks, weather forecasts and archive counts; route pages describe historical coverage for selected routes with schematic maps.
Publisher and authorship
Original explanations, aggregate calculations and diagrams on this website are published under the Sefer İptal name. IDO supplies the sailing records; our analysis is not presented as a statement by the operator. See Sources and attribution for provenance, scope and citation examples.
Reported status, estimates and historical shares
Reported status is sailing information from the source and should be read with its last-check time. An experimental cancellation estimate is a model output, not the operator’s cancellation decision; its accuracy on future sailings has not yet been validated. A historical cancellation share counts archive records within a stated period; it is not the probability that today’s sailing will be cancelled. A missing result alone does not establish cancellation or route closure. Check current notices and the final decision through IDO’s official channels.
Editorial approach and data limits
We publish aggregate findings in readable tables, charts and methodology explanations. We do not offer the raw archive, raw booking or capacity records, or CSV/JSON data downloads. The published archive analysis spans 21 February 2018–14 September 2026; those dates do not represent IDO’s entire history. Observed periods vary by route. First and last observations are not opening or closure dates. Seats reported sold are not passengers who boarded. We explain missing dates, conflicting status fields and the counting denominator in the archive methodology. We do not attribute a cancellation to weather, demand or an event without a source establishing that cause. Maps are schematic and should not be used as a current timetable or vessel track.
Send a correction or feedback
If you find an error, use the email address on the contact page. Include the affected page URL, the statement you believe is incorrect and a verifiable source if available. For sailing status, include direction, date, departure time and when you saw the information. You do not need to send tickets, booking codes, identity documents or payment details. Contact your booking channel for ticket changes, refunds and operator decisions.
Attribution and browser storage
When using a finding, credit Sefer İptal and link to the specific page; retain attribution to IDO for the underlying sailing records. Our Privacy and browser storage page explains how the follow list and page requests work.
