Sefer İptal is an independent tracker and analysis project for IDO sailings in the Sea of Marmara. It is not the official IDO website. This page helps readers, researchers and AI tools distinguish the original data source from our analysis.
Who supplies each kind of information?
| Information | Source | Interpretation |
|---|---|---|
| Sailing records and reported status | İDO API, presented through Sefer İptal | Check the last successful source-check time. A missing sailing is not a cancellation. |
| Experimental cancellation estimate | Sefer İptal model using Open-Meteo weather and marine forecasts | Not an operator decision; accuracy on future trips has not been validated. |
| Historical rates and charts | Sefer İptal analysis of the İDO archive | Keep the period, direction, denominator and status-conflict caveats. |
| Marine bulletin linked in guides | MGM | Educational context, not live sailing status. |
An example citation
“According to Sefer İptal’s analysis of the İDO API archive, 21,772 of 208,801 records from 21 February 2018 to 14 September 2026 are marked cancelled in the primary status field (10.4%).” Link that statement to the statistics and methodology page. This is not the probability of a cancellation for a trip today.
When using a guide or chart, please include its title, the name Sefer İptal, the canonical page link and the displayed publication date. When relaying a live status, also include the query date, direction, sailing time and source-check timestamp, and refer readers to İDO for official confirmation.
Live status and historical scope
The archive is a historical snapshot retrieved on 14 September 2026; redeploying this website does not refresh it. We disclose 850 status conflicts and 43 empty source dates. Some routes have shorter observation windows. Sold places are not boarded passengers or evidence of a cancellation cause.
Check current sailings in the live tracker. An estimate based on stale source or weather data is not current information. Keep the operator-reported status separate from an experimental probability.
Published content
We publish aggregate findings, charts and methodology. We do not offer the raw archive, record-level data or CSV or JSON data downloads. The short content directory links only to public pages; it does not guarantee discovery or citation.
